Hồ Thị Phương

Phương comes from the Bru–Vân Kiều community in Quảng Bình. After losing both parents, she was raised with the care of her older brother while continuing to imagine an education beyond her village.

Her goal was never disconnected from where she came from. She wanted practical knowledge that could be carried back and shared with the people who shaped her.

At Đồng Hới Economic College, vocational training offered Phương a concrete route toward work and self-reliance. Albrecht Fund’s support covered a focused seven-month period when continuity mattered.

That support helped her remain in training and keep sight of the longer ambition behind it: becoming capable enough to contribute, not only receive.

Phương’s story reflects a principle at the heart of the Albrecht pathway: education reaches its fullest value when growth returns to community.

Her aspiration to support her hometown turns one educational opportunity into the beginning of wider, locally rooted change.
