Cảnh’s ambitions began with a deeply personal promise: study hard, become capable, and create a safer home for his mother.

Home

Responsibility learned early

Cảnh grew up in a rural community in Ba Tri, Bến Tre. After his father died, he helped his mother with the routines of home while staying engaged at school.

His family’s house needed significant repair. For Cảnh, that visible fragility became part of a clear, caring ambition: one day, he wanted to build his mother a better home.

The long view

Support measured in school years

Albrecht Fund began supporting Cảnh in 2019, with a commitment extending through 2025. That longer horizon matters because educational growth is rarely produced by a single moment.

Stable support allowed him to focus on learning while continuing to contribute to family life—the two parts of his world reinforcing, rather than cancelling, each other.

Motivation

Love turned into direction

Cảnh’s story is a reminder that children’s goals are often rooted in the wellbeing of others. His dream of a safer house is also a dream of security, dignity, and gratitude.

Education gives that instinct a pathway: from wanting to help, to building the ability to do so.

What this journey reminds us

A child’s dream can be both modest and enormous: a secure home for someone he loves.
